Just a quick question.
Why aren't there screens on windows in the UK? Just wondering.

Well, this is being asked by the ignorance of someone who's never been to England (I was in Ireland, but that was in March) but maybe the bugs aren't as bad? (Guessing that isn't the case based on the question.) Maybe they're tougher then us Americans?
Well our bugs aren't so bad (except in Scotland, but I reckon their midges would still get through the screen). Plus, there is only a very limited time of year when we keep our windows open. Unless the screens kept out water they'd be useless - which would be why we have glass windows!
