this may not be as "sad" in the pathetic sense of sad, but just plain sad as in sad. I went to get a coffee yesterday and when the lady asked for my stamp (read: loyalty) card, I realized I'd just crumpled my gum in it and was reaching to throw it away. all that hard work of accumulation and dedication! forever locked in a thoughtless wad of adult pacifier adhesion!
